Roads

Since founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, road construction has developed rapidly so that the transportation network has spread all over the country and every county has been connected by road. By the end of 2005, more than 1.9305 million km or roads had been put into use.

From the late 1980s, when expressways began to be constructed, to the end of 2000, a total of 27,000 km of expressways had been completed. Many of major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang, Dalian, Wuhan, Nanjing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen all have their own expressway networks.

Aviation

Air transport is now an important mode of travel. By the end of 2000, the number of civi air routes in China had exceeded 1,000. All major cities are connected by aeilines. It has become very common for people to travel by plane. There are over 120 international air lines to various cities all over the world. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong are amoung the most important international airports.
