China has a complicated geographical environment

Metasequoia is rare species with a long history. People used to believe metasequoia
had become extinct, However, in 1940s, Chinese botanists found a metasequoia in
Wan county, Szechuan province. This was a monumental discovery in international
botany circles at that time.
